Metamorfose translates University of Amsterdam’s annual report
This year’s annual report of the University of Amsterdam – like the 2008 version – is to be translated by Metamorfose Vertalingen. The annual report – a document of tens of thousands of words – is of vital significance to the identity and reputation of this widely acclaimed institution.
Metamorfose has extensive experience in translating annual reports and also provides this year’s financial statements of, for example, Schiphol Group, the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP) and Nuffic (Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education) .
The University of Amsterdam consistently achieves high scores in international academic rankings and is recognised as one of the major universities in mainland Europe. Metamorfose has been the UvA’s translation partner for several years and provides translations – mostly from Dutch into English – of a wide variety of documents, ranging from short press releases to research reports and official institutional documents such as the annual report.
Translation work for an institution as large and diverse as the University of Amsterdam calls for a comprehensive approach to ensure consistency in terminology and tone of voice. To that end, Metamorfose uses several advanced instruments, including automated translation memories and continuously expanding, strictly supervised wordlists fed by the translators and by the UvA itself with new terminology on an ongoing basis.
Thanks to its capacity and experience, and with guidance from the University’s Communication Department, Metamorfose Vertalingen is capable of providing professional translations of large, complex and critical documents such as the annual report.
