Metamorfose engaged in large museum project in Belgium
Metamorfose has been engaged to translate all exhibition texts and the audio tour for the recently opened Museum for Coastal Tourism in the Belgian seaside resort of Middelkerke. This brand-new museum has been conceived as an interactive visitor centre where guests are invited for a stroll through the history of tourism by the sea.
The museum sketches a picture of seaside tourism and tourists in Flanders through the ages, on the basis of special objects (such as the original walking stick of king Leopold II and a splendid carriage of the original coastal tram), photographs, swimwear fashion, films and scale models.
Metamorfose provides the English, French and German texts to accompany the extensive tour. The material includes detailed practical and historical information about each object and background texts that bring the entire collection to life in a historical context. In all, the translation project involves many tens of thousands of words.
