Our work for government authorities covers a wide range of texts and clients, from policy documents and official speeches to websites and from municipal services to government ministries. The variation in texts requires an equally varied range of translation skills. A ministerial speech calls for a different approach than technical correspondence with the European Commission, even if both are about the same subject.
One thing that unites all government bodies, however, is their need for careful formulation. In politically sensitive contexts, it is very important to ensure that no new interpretations are added in the translation process. By the time we receive them, documents may have been on several people’s desks for approval, and may have been adjusted from as many different perspectives. We are fully aware that our translation will have to satisfy all parties involved. We will do what we can to ensure a balanced translation in an unambiguous and authentic style.
Translation record: policy memorandums, requests for EU subsidies, speeches, project proposals and evaluations, EU documentation, environmental impact assessments, government websites, zoning schemes, research reports, press releases.
