Utrecht is known in the Netherlands and abroad as an attractive city with huge tourist potential. As part of a strategy aimed at unlocking that potential to the full, the city council has created a special foundation, Stichting Utrecht Marketing, in which a range of bodies and organisations join forces to bring Utrecht to the attention of tourists and businesses in the Netherlands and elsewhere.
As part of this citymarketing effort, Stichting Utrecht Marketing has selected Metamorfose Vertalingen as a provider of translation services in a range of languages. These services cover a broad spectrum of promotional and informative documents about the city and its environs, which we translate into various languages including German, Italian, Spanish, French and of course English.
In recent years more and more tourists who visit the Netherlands have been turning their sights on Utrecht, and the reasons are clear. Utrecht has an incredibly rich history, and much of its heritage is accessible and easy to visit – in the historical city centre, in several major museums and in a range of interesting locations in the surrounding area. But Utrecht offers attractions in other categories too, such as a wide range of shopping options, a low-traffic city centre, excellent transport connections and a rich university and theatre scene.
Examples of documents translated by Metamorfose on behalf of Stichting Utrecht Marketing in the recent past include an extensive museum guide, cycling routes in the Utrecht area, information about historical monuments and shopping guides, as well as more formal documents about grants, organising events and the like.
